Lixian Zhuang’s Artworks

Lixian Zhuang was born in 1941 in Puning, Guangdong, and developed a passion for calligraphy and painting from a young age, inspired by her father. After moving to Shantou in 1956, she studied under renowned artists Lanruo Wang and Changchao Liu, with her early works exhibited in the Shantou Youth Art Exhibition. She later joined the Shantou Artists’ Association but had to pause her artistic pursuits due to family responsibilities, work, and the Cultural Revolution. In 2004, while visiting Canada to be with her son’s family, she rekindled her love for painting. After permanently settling in Canada in 2016, she fully embraced her passion, free from past constraints. Now, alongside learning English, painting has become a cherished part of her daily life.
